About the Artist:
Laura Kramer is a glass artist located in Rhode Island. With a BFA from RISD, MFA from OSU and MA from Columbia University in Cultural Anthropology/Material Culture, her artwork is influenced by an eclectic combination of historical curiosity and authenticity, reflecting the belief that every object is imbued with the spirit of its maker. Her work focuses on the expression of the fascinating qualities of the materiality of glass using such techniques as blowing from the furnace, casting in molds in the kilns, and/or using a lamp working torch. She is represented by Heller Gallery, NYC where she has had a number of solo and group shows.
