About the Artist
What role have mushrooms played in divine worship throughout the ages? What can we learn from the religious iconography that references them found around the world? Using the mushroom as his talisman, Michael Campbell explores these questions with a visual language of brightly colored painted plaster casts, vintage china and anthropomorphic miniatures that describe a reality of altered consciousness.
